An electrician who understands the week
New-Gen Sparks is a family firm with family ties to London’s Jewish community, so the rhythm of the week and the year is familiar to us: nothing booked at your home on Shabbat or Yom Tov, Friday jobs finished early, and no raised eyebrows at a second oven, a hot-water urn socket or a timer for the hallway lights.
We work for Jewish homeowners and landlords week in, week out — consumer unit upgrades in Golders Green semis, kosher kitchens in Edgware and Hendon, mansion-block flats in St John’s Wood, EICRs for landlords with properties across NW4, NW11 and N16. The rest of the time we are in West London around our Hammersmith base. Either way, the work is tidy, tested and certified.
How we work with Jewish families
- Nothing booked at your home on Shabbat or Yom Tov, and Friday jobs planned to finish early — tell us the dates to avoid and we work around them.
- Shabbat timers for lights, hot plate and urn, and override switches for sensor lights.
- Kosher kitchen electrics: the circuits for two ovens, two dishwashers, the urn and a Pesach kitchen.
- Sukkah and outdoor power on a weatherproof socket and a timer, fitted before Sukkot.
- Landlord EICRs, remedials and alarms across the community areas, with certificates to you and your agent.
- Shoes off if that is the house rule, dust sheets down, everything tidied before we leave.
